The music will be drawn from the Mazurkas, Polonaises, Waltzes, Nocturnes, Preludes and also includes the dramatic third Ballade.

THE ROMANTIC PIANO MUSIC OF FREDERICK CHOPIN: a workshop for very young children (2+) where they can enjoy listening to short pieces – Waltzes, Mazurkas, Nocturnes, Polonaises, dress up as Chopin, his three sisters, his two girlfriends (professionally designed bonnets provided!) , play percussion and act out episodes from Chopin’s life. Fauns, nymphs and flutes – an inter-active workshop for primary schoolchildren had 15 performances in Inverness, Tain, Bad Caul and Scoraig. Centred around the music of Debussy, pupils were introduced to  Debussy’s special harmonic language of parallel chords, whole-tone and pentatonic scales in Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune and Cathedrale engloutie, both of which were dramatized. There were also drawing activities for younger children while they listened to The little shepherd, Syrinx and Jardins sous la pluie. Also performances for the local community on two evenings.
