Tour of Scottish Highlands: September 4-6th: with Eva Caballero -flute, playing Debussy.
Fauns, nymphs and flutes – an inter-active workshop for primary schoolchildren had 15 performances in Inverness, Tain, Bad Caul and Scoraig. Centred around the music of Debussy, pupils were introduced to Debussy’s special harmonic language of parallel chords, whole-tone and pentatonic scales in Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune and Cathedrale engloutie, both of which were dramatized. There were also drawing activities for younger children while they listened to The little shepherd, Syrinx and Jardins sous la pluie. Also performances for the local community on two evenings.
